Prep Time: 20 minutes + setting time

Yield: Dependent on the size of the molds you use, but roughly 12 – 15 large bums

Ingredients:

EASTER BOUNTY BUNNY BUMS:
80 to 160g milk chocolate (depending on the size mold)
385g tin condensed milk
⅓ cup icing sugar
135g desiccated coconut
heart shaped chocolate molds

BUNNY TAILS:
25g white chocolate
4 Tbsp. desiccated coconut

Method (for the heart molds):

Establish the amount of chocolate you’ll need for lining your chocolate molds. Place ⅓ of the milk chocolate into a microwave, and heat on high for 30 second blasts, until the chocolate has melted.

Add another ⅓ of un-melted chocolate to it, and stir until it’s completely melted, and begins to thicken. This helps in tempering the chocolate so that it sets correctly.

Place some melted chocolate into your heart shaped chocolate molds, and coat them entirely using a paint brush, trying to get the chocolate as even as possible.

Place the molds in the fridge for a few minutes to set (+/-2 minutes), and then apply a second coat of chocolate into the molds, making them a little thicker and stronger. Allow them to set at room temperature, ideally between 12 and 20 degrees Celsius.

Method (for the filling):

Place the condensed milk, icing sugar and desiccated coconut into a mixing bowl, and mix until combined.

If you’d like to color the coconut filling, you can add some food colorant to it.

Once the chocolate hearts have set, add spoonful’s of coconut mixture into them, leaving enough space for a final coat of chocolate to seal them closed.

Coat the back end of the egg with the remaining melted milk chocolate, and pop them into the fridge for a couple of minutes to set.

Method (for the tails):

Gently remove the hearts from the molds, and transform them into bunny bums by adding a little white chocolate tail.

Melt the white chocolate in a microwave (using the same temper method as before).

Once it’s melted, add the desiccated coconut to it, give it a stir, and allow to to cool and thicken for a few minutes. Then roll small balls of chocolate in the palms of your hands, creating cute and fluffy bunny tails.

Place a small dot of melted chocolate to the back end of the tails, and secure them to the top end of the hearts.

The perfect little Bounty Bunny Bums!

Place them in cellophane bags, tie a cute ribbon around the top, and add the FREE printable tags!
