Kiddies love little Christmas projects like these, and as a mom, they’re always fun to make with them. So if you have some felt and a couple of candy canes lying around, why not craft some cute candy cane reindeer this festive season. They can be used as tree decorations, or you can hang them on your bedroom door handles. I’ve also included a FREE printable pattern in this post, but it should be used as a guideline as the size you will cut your felt will be dependent on the size of your candy canes… so let’s begin!

Candy Cane Reindeer

Prep Time: 20 minutes

What You’ll Need:

1 square of dark brown felt
1 square of beige felt
2 candy canes (I used 6,5cm long candy canes)
2 googly eyes
1 small red pompom ball
1 small bell
needle and brown thread
glue & glue gun
FREE printable provided below

Method:

Print The Super Moms Club Candy Cane Reindeer FREE Pattern (PDF) and use it as a cutting guide. As I mentioned before, you’ll need to adjust the pattern to fit around the candy canes you will be using. If you’re using 6,5cm long candy canes, you can use the pattern exactly as it is.

Cut out the dark brown felt as indicated on the pattern. Place it around the two long ends of the candy canes and secure it tightly by gluing it with a glue gun.

Cut out the beige felt and glue it onto the brown felt as indicated on the pattern.

Glue on the googly eyes and red pompom ball for the nose as indicated on the pattern. Your little reindeer is taking shape and now all that’s left is to give him a bell… “jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!”

Attach the bell to the bottom end of the reindeer using a needle and some brown thread.

If you would like to hang your candy cane reindeer, simply use your thread to create a hanging tab or if your candy canes are big enough, you can use those!

Voila, cute little candy cane reindeer… it’s as easy as that!
