Line your dish with the Marie biscuits. Because Marie biscuits are round in shape, they aren't always that easy to perfectly line a dish. You can let them overlap if you like, or you can trim them down with a knife as and where you need to... it's up to you to decide!
On a stovetop (on a medium heat), slowly bring to the boil.
In the meantime (in a mixing bowl), beat the eggs with an electric mixer until they become foamy (roughly 30 seconds to a minute).
Add the condensed milk, vanilla essence and salt, and beat until the mixture is combined.
Sift in the self raising flour, and beat until combined (about 30 seconds). There's no exact science to the flour measurement... it should be heaped spoons... simple as that!
Once the milk and butter mix begins to boil, remove the pot from the stove and slowly add the beaten ingredients to it while stirring (if you don't stir, it will become lumpy)! Once it's all combined in the pot, return it to the stove (on a low to medium heat) and keep stirring until the mixture thickens (it usually takes a couple of minutes).
Slowly pour the mixture over the Marie biscuits in the dish.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and pop it into the fridge to cool... once it's cold, enjoy with your family!
