Make-Up Themed Birthday Party Ideas
Although many people are texting invites these days, I still prefer the good old fashioned route of giving out invites. If you prefer that too, then you’ll love The Supermoms Club Make-Up Themed Birthday Party Invites (PDF) which can be printed on white cardboard or paper. All you have to do is hit print, cut them out and fill out the party details… invites sorted!
Themed cakes and cupcakes can be really pricey these days. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, baking them yourself is definitely the best option. The Supermoms Club Vanilla Cupcake Recipe is so easy and has a step by step guide to help you through (especially if you find baking a challenge). To glam them up, use colored cupcake casings and colored icing with a sprinkle of edible glitter. You can print The Supermoms Club Make-Up Themed Birthday Party Cupcake Toppers (PDF), and once you’ve cut them out, simply glue them to a toothpick or lollipop stick and pop them into the cupcakes. Voila – glammed up cupcakes sorted!
If you’d like to make a treats table (like the one I made for this party), you can print The Supermoms Club Party Treats Banner (PDF) and attach it to the table using some string or ribbon once you’ve cut it out. This banner is roughly 1m long.
A make-up themed birthday party needs some glammed-up party favours, and these are perfect if you’re on a tight budget. They’re easy to make, won’t break the bank, and you can get your daughter involved in making them for a fun mom/daughter project! If you prefer, you could also buy the supplies beforehand and let the girls make them at the party… activities & party favours sorted in one!
Here’s How To Make Them:
Sugar Foot Scrub
1 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons coconut oil or olive oil
10 to 15 drops essential oils (any fragrance you like)
optional: 5 drops liquid food coloring (any color you like)
Measure out the sugar and sift it into a mixing bowl.
If you choose to use coconut oil, it will need to be heated first. Place it into a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high until it’s completely melted (about 25 seconds). If you choose to use olive oil, there’s no need to heat it.
Pour the oil over the sugar and mix it well until it’s all combined. If it’s too wet, add small amounts of sugar and mix it until you get a consistency that you like.
Add the essential oil, and mix until well combined.
If you would like to color the sugar foot scrub, add the food coloring and mix until the color is consistent.
Place the sugar foot scrub into cellophane bags and tie them closed with a ribbon. Print The Supermoms Club Make-Up Themed Birthday Party Foot Scrub, Hand Cream & Body Soap Labels (PDF) and attach them to the ribbon.
Scented Hand Cream
Large tub of unscented aqueous cream
Essential oil (any fragrance you like)
Small plastic tubs with lids (+/- 60ml)
Add a couple drops of essential oil into the aqueous cream and mix it together until combined and you can smell the fragrance.
Fill the small plastic tubs with the cream.
To finish it off, tie a ribbon around the tub and print The Supermoms Club Make-Up Themed Birthday Party Foot Scrub, Hand Cream & Body Soap Labels (PDF) and attach them to the ribbon.
Glycerin melt & pour soap
Essential oil (any fragrance you like)
Rubbing alcohol (placed into a spray bottle)
Soap molds (silicone molds)
Before you start, prep the molds by spraying some rubbing alcohol into them. This prevents the soap from forming bubbles when it sets.
Place a double boiler on a medium stove.
Cut the glycerin melt & pour soap into small cubes. Place them into the double boiler, and stir using a wooden spoon until they’ve melted.
Place a couple of drops of essential oil into the melted soap, and stir until combined.
Pour the melted soap into the prepped molds. Fill each mold to the rim, but be careful not to overfill them otherwise your soap won’t come out perfectly! Then give another spray of the rubbing alcohol (preventing bubbles forming on the back side of the soap).
Leave the soaps to set. Once they have set, pop them out of the molds and place them into cellophane bags and tie them closed with a ribbon. Print The Supermoms Club Make-Up Themed Birthday Party Foot Scrub, Hand Cream & Body Soap Labels (PDF) and attach them to the ribbon.
And lastly, all glamour girls need to be kept well hydrated! The Supermoms Club Make-Up Themed Birthday Party Cooldrink Labels (PDF) are perfect for any plastic cooldrink or water bottle. Once you’ve printed them, cut them out and secure them to the bottles using glue or double sided tape.
If You Want To Go All Out…
If you don’t mind splashing out a bit, then a pamper jar filled with lip gloss, nail polish, nail files, cuticle sticks or a small hand cream is perfect. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend and what you’ve budgeted for the day.
Have a make-up-tastic teen birthday party!
